Comecei a ouvir uma cantora australiana chamada Kate Miller-Heidke. Achei ela bem do tipo “there’s more than meets the eye”. Sua música é super pop chiclete dançante, bem como está meu gosto por agora. Além da música fantárdiga sobre o facebook, tem os trocadilhos bobinhos mas que eu achei geniais (bem típico meu isso) da “Just can’t shake it”.

Just can’t shake it pode ser, literalmente, não posso sacudir, mas também é usado pra falar de algo que você não consegue esquecer ou superar. Tipo, um sentimento que você não consegue deixar pra lá e te persegue, fica te amolando.

Exemplo: “I can’t give up what I’m in love with. I guess I’m a mess and I just can’t shake it. I just can’t change what I am.” (De alguma música aí, achei bem auto-explicativo)

Na música da Kate, ela usa o sentido literal, mas o figurativo também. Porque será que humor do tipo “rir-de-si-mesmo” é tão mais legal? O bom mesmo é quando os outros entendem que esse tipo de humor não é um convite à jogação de pedra. Quem ri de si mesmo sabe que no fim das contas, a gente não pode se levar muito a sério, e isso não tem nada a ver com respeito próprio, pelo contrário.

Ah, Just Can’t Shake It é sobre uma menina que não sabe dançar. A parte que mais me faz rir é quando ela diz, “The perpetrator lies between my back and my thighs”, seguida de “I execute the moonwalk like I stepped in shit”.
